TOKYO — A satellite television channel that specializes in Japanese content will begin airing a program in November showcasing some of the country’s attractions.

The program, “Shiki-Oriori,” will show townscapes, traditional culture and other information to help drum up tourism to Japan. A broad range of other areas will be covered as well, including state-of-the-art technologies and industrial products.

The show will air on Wakuwaku Japan, a channel that broadcasts Japanese content in local languages in Indonesia and Myanmar. A total of 125 hours of programming will be shown through March of next year.

The project will be designated as a model business under the Communications Ministry’s initiative to distribute content via satellite broadcasts.
