Kamogawa Sea World is the largest aquarium in the Kanto region

Kamogawa Sea World, located in Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture, is a facility where you can enjoy about 11,000 sea creatures of 800 species, including killer whales, the king of the sea, dolphins, sea lions, and beluga whales. This facility, which functions as a theme park where you can enjoy performances by large animals, has a total floor area of 22,699 square meters, and is said to be the largest aquarium in the Kanto region.

The total floor area is 22,699 square meters, the largest in the Kanto region.

50th anniversary of opening in 2020

Kamogawa Sea World, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in October 2020, opened in October 1970 with the concept of “encountering the world of the sea” and now has about 900,000 visitors annually. Since 1986, he has been operating and managing Granvista Hotels & Resorts, and various events have been held in collaboration with the hotel.

What Kamogawa Sea World values: Life

The various activities and life forms of aquatic organisms (organisms that live in water such as oceans, lakes, rivers, groundwater, etc), which have rich characteristics and ecology, greatly exceed our human imagination and give us surprises and impressions.

The purpose of this facility is to experience the importance of life through encounters with such aquatic organisms, and to enjoy learning about the relationship between knowledge about aquatic organisms and the natural environment.

Through each experience, including the exhibition environment that realistically reproduces the world of the sea and performances that bring out the intelligence and athletic abilities of the animals, Kamogawa Sea World hopes to share their feelings for the sea through the brilliance of life and heartfelt contact.

Four Initiatives of Kamogawa Sea World

The exhibition theme of Kamogawa Sea World is “encounter with the world of the sea”. Through ecological exhibitions and performances that reproduce the natural environment, they provides a place where you can be moved by the warmth of life and learn the importance of life and the environment that surrounds it.

1. Educational Activities

Through educational programs such as “Monthly Meeting of Animal Friends”, “Summer School”, “Junior Trainer Experience”, “Night Adventure”, and “Special Program for School Groups”, its provide a place to learn in a fun way.

Summer School is a learning program for elementary school students that has been held since 1973, when Kamogawa Sea World opened.

In this program, you can not only receive lectures about sea creatures, but also observe killer whales and dolphins up close, touch starfish and hermit crabs, and learn through contact with real creatures, which is very popular. Yes, many children participate every year.

2. Wildlife Conservation Activities

Kamogawa Sea World contributes to the coexistence of nature and wild animals by promoting “species conservation activities” through conservation activities such as protecting injured and sick individuals, loggerhead turtle eggs, and aquatic insects.

In 2001, Kamogawa Sea World established the Sea Turtle Beach, an exhibition facility for sea turtles. Since 2002, its have been working to protect the eggs of loggerhead sea turtles that have been laid in places that are not suitable for hatching.

The number of loggerhead turtles is thought to be declining year by year due to the deterioration of their habitat (decrease in spawning grounds, accidental ingestion of plastic waste floating in the sea, etc.).

Baby turtles hatch from protected eggs and head offshore

Japan is a major spawning ground for loggerhead turtles, and loggerhead turtles come to Chiba every year to lay their eggs. If there is a situation that requires protection, we take action to protect it.

3. Promotion and Research of Captive Breeding

As a place that contributes to “ex situ conservation”, it will promote breeding in captivity and conduct research related to it. In addition, it accumulate scientific knowledge through “species conservation activities” and contribute to “in-situ conservation.”

On May 29, 2019 (Wednesday), the white-sided dolphin “Diana” gave birth to a baby, and succeeded in breeding white-sided dolphins by artificial insemination for the first time in Japan.

Normally, the baby would start sucking the mother’s milk a few hours after giving birth, but the baby couldn’t suck on the nipple well, so Kamogawa Sea World decided that the baby wouldn’t be able to drink the mother’s milk as it was, so we switched to artificial feeding.

Kamogawa Sea World has succeeded in breeding bottlenose dolphins by artificial insemination in the past, but this is the first case in Japan to succeed with white-sided dolphins. Contribute to in situ conservation.

4. Collaboration with Local Communities

The cooperation of local fishermen is essential for collecting the exhibits of Kamogawa Sea World, and they are also cooperating in the release of protected individuals and in survey and research activities. In addition, they actively cooperate with events such as coming-of-age ceremonies, prefectural citizens’ days, and respect for the aged days held by government agencies. And more, cooperate with local cultural activities and local tourism associations, and cooperate with local police on traffic safety campaigns and seminars.

Tojo coastline in front of the facility and the area around the anti-sand forest. These cleanup activities also aim to support the loggerhead turtles that come ashore to lay their eggs from June to August every year while striving to beautify the local environment.

As part of the Kamogawa Sea World 50th Anniversary Project, we recruited participants from members of the Dolphin Dream Club, a group of friends of Kamogawa Sea World, and worked with employees to clean up the Tojo coast that stretches out in front of Kamogawa Sea World.

Implemented the GOMI(Waste) ZERO campaign on the local beach. An opportunity to feel closer to the relationship between wildlife and their habitat.

Rakuho-Dou – Offer shoes for your feet health

Rakuho-Dou Inc. is a shoe store that sells health-conscious shoes based in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture. Established in 1997 by Rakuho-Dou with the concept of “thinking about health from the feet up”.

Shoe specialists, prosthetists, and physiotherapists who have learned the German “orthopedic shoe technique” will select shoes and make custom-made insoles that suit each individual. Of course, after-sales care is also substantial, so you can get shoes that you can use for a long time.

Rakuho-Do Takasaki Shop

Rakuho-Dou Takasaki Main Shop

Different from other shoe stores, they offer a service that considers your feet

The way Rakuhodo sells shoes is different from other shoe stores. For example, in an optician’s case, the products for the eyes are the frames and lenses of the glasses. The lenses are adjusted to your vision and the frames are adjusted to fit your lenses and your face and nose.

At Rakuhodo, the eyes are the feet and the frame is the shoes. And the lens becomes the insole. Custom-made insoles are manufactured by adjusting the insoles according to each person’s different foot shape.

Shoe Insole

Rakuho-Dou manufacture made-to-order insoles with various materials and thicknesses to match various shoes such as walking, running, and business scenes.

Insole

Rakuho-Dou manufacture made-to-order insoles according to various problems such as bunions, flat feet, and sole pain.

Rakuho-Dou Takasaki Main Store – Complete with a studio in addition to the sales floor

The Rakuho-Dou Takasaki main store has a wide range of shoes for women, men, children, and sports shoes in a spacious store where you can relax and choose your shoes. A “master of finding shoes that fit” will carefully measure and analyze your feet and carefully support you in choosing shoes. They also manufacture custom-made insoles for choosing shoes that match the shape of your feet.

In addition, they have a treatment room for German-style foot care “Freslege” and a studio for yoga and Pilates lessons, so you can feel free to consult us about the health of your feet and shoes.

Check Shoe

Experts check each part in detail to ensure that the shoes fit your feet.

Check Walking

Rakuho-Dou analyze your gait, balance, etc., and choose the shoes and insoles that are perfect for you.

Measuring Foot

A “footprint” is created by copying the pressure on the sole and the shape of the arch of the foot onto special paper.

Order made Insole

Specialists, who have learned German orthopedic shoe technology, carefully produce each shoe.

Next Meats: The Food-Tech Startup Solving Social Problems

‘Next Meats’ was founded in 2020 in Shinjuku Tokyo Prefecture, with the aim to directly confront contemporary environmental concerns, as well as put solutions into action. The research started in 2017, the incorporation of the final product was completed in 2020, and the company was listed in January 2021 in OTCBB via SPAC.

Next Meats Co., Ltd.

They have produced products such as the world’s first meat-substituted BBQ “NEXT Yakiniku”, Beef Bowl with plant-based meat “NEXT Gyudon”, and the plant-based alternative Hamburger “NEXT Burger”.

Due to the attention gained from becoming a hot topic in television programs, Next Meats has been gaining increasing support, mainly from the younger generation. The comapny has also announced their partnership with Toyota Tsusho Cooperation, a general trading firm, as of December 2020. They have embarked on research and development of a wide range of alternative proteins; our goal is to substitute all animal-based meat with substitute proteins by 2050. Next Meats is working on product development and building various alliances with the aim of becoming the Apple of the food industry.

What can we do for the future of our children?

Meat production is the cause of 15% of global human-emitted greenhouse gases; hence, through the decrease in intake of meat products, we can vastly improve greenhouse gas emissions. There is a necessity to decrease the massive amount of water used for stockbreeding, as well as the greenhouse gas emissions caused by it. ‘Next Meats’ aims to create and popularize a delicious plant-based alternative to animal meat and a lifestyle that corresponds to it, as well as improve the current state of our environment. This initiative contributes to the UN’s SDGs.

NEXT MEATS’ Products

The products below include limited edition offers and therefore may be unavailable at this time. Please check the official website for more details.

NEXT YAKINIKU(BBQ) SERIES: “Karubi(Korean-style Beef Ribs) 1.0” and “Harami(Skirt Steak) 1.0”

NEXT YAKINIKU SERIES is a plant-based foodstuff made of plant-based proteins such as soybeans. We have spent many years developing this product with an established factory that has been making vegan foods for 30 years. Since they are made without any additives and with similar qualities with meat, it is perfect for people who want to lead healthier lifestyles but also wish to enjoy the texture and flavor of meat.

NEXT YAKINIKU(BBQ) SERIES: “Karubi(Korean-style Beef Ribs) 1.0” and “Harami(Skirt Steak) 1.0”

NEXT YAKINIKU SERIES possesses less than half the fat and about twice the amount of protein of ordinary yakiniku, making it a product with perfect nutritional value that is even acceptable to athletes. Two types of products were released this year: “Karubi 1.0,” which is made to look and taste as savory as the Korean-style Beef Ribs, and the tender and flavorful “Harami 1.0”.

Completely Plant-based Beef Bowl: “NEXT Gyudon 1.2”

The texture and taste are made almost indistinguishable to a beef bowl. We are determined to change the fundamental concept of “plant-based food = healthy but not tasty”. This beef bowl is made without any animal ingredients or any additives; it is friendly to both the environment and one’s body. It is rich in protein and low in fat, making it a perfect provision for athletes. You can even have it as a late-night meal without feeling guilty.

Completely Plant-based Beef Bowl: “NEXT Gyudon 1.2”

Guilt-free Plant-based Hamburger: “NEXT Burger 2.0”

Next Burger,” which has been available exclusively on the crowdfunding website “Makuake” since July 2020, has returned with an updated version due to popular demand. The “Next Burger 2.0” is an alternative plant-based meat patty made from a perfect combination of pea and soy proteins. It is both fulfilling and healthy.

Guilt-free Plant-based Hamburger: “NEXT Burger 2.0”

The patty finishes with a subtle “Wa (harmony)” flavor. The springiness of the texture (meatiness) further enhances the delicious taste of the patty. The original sauce that comes with the patty will have you hooked!

NEXT MEATS’ Contribution to the SDGs

NEXT MEATS Corporation’s activities to solve food-supply crisis and environmental problems through research and development of meat substitutes fall under several goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations in 2015 and is committed to them.

SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)

The Goals include: Goal 2: Zero Hunger, Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, Goal 13: Climate Action, Goal 15: Life on Land, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals. NEXT MEATS is a company working on SDGs.

One-stop service is a service that can be used from nursing care level 1 or higher, and one office can handle nursing and nursing care, including medical care, in any situation, such as home visits, day care, short stay accommodation, etc. Due to its small size, it is difficult to be crowded, and attention is also increasing for the fact that only a limited number of reliable staff are doing it.

Inquiries are rapidly increasing from care workers at hospital who take care of patients who do not want to leave their homes due to fear of infection and care managers at hoke care support offices with users who are highly depend on medical care at nursing home. Since it is possible to provide home-visit nursing care, there are many inquires that feel the merit of being able to provide one-stop services to users with high medical needs, which would have been difficult to accept at a small-scale, multi-function facility.

Nursing Small Scale Multifunctional Home Care Office – Voices of Nursing Home Users

As needs limited to home visits and confirmation of safety are increasing, users say that they respect their wishes to stay at home, that they will come if necessary, and that nurses and caregivers who are familiar with their faces respond. We receive a lot of feedback from users saying that it is a response that meets their needs. In addition, we have a system that can calculate in a few minutes, so it is also popular that we can handle only safety confirmation, which is difficult for other users.
