Projects, Products and Services
Hitachi has supplied highly reliable and safe products for total railway system integration, based on our extensive experience in Japanese railway systems.

Projects

  • Class 395 High Speed
Hitachi’s Class 395 is the first domestic high-speed passenger train in the UK. Out-of-the-box availability allowed the launch of a preview service six months ahead of schedule in June 2009. The full service, running since December 2009, has dramatically reduced journey times across Kent.

  • Class 465 Networker
We were contracted to replace the traction equipment of the British Rail Class 465 EMU (Electrical Multiple Units) with our bespoke traction technology in order to increase reliability and availability of the ageing fleet.
