Living in Gaziantep, 43-year-old Fatma Öztop’s love for Japanese beads led her to pursue making a living through “miyuki,” or Japanese beads, after attending a jewelry design course three years ago. Selling her products in a business that she launched with her partner one year ago, Öztop is working to make her products popular through social media promotions of her brand, which she named after her children.

TOKYO, August 18, 2017 – On August 17, 2017 (local time), Ajinomoto Co., Inc. (“Ajinomoto Co.”) acquired an additional 50% of the stock of Kükre A.Ş., a food company in Turkey, for approximately 181 million Turkish Lira (TRY) (approximately JPY 5.7 billion*) and made it a wholly owned subsidiary. With this acquisition, Ajinomoto Co. will accelerate business expansion in Turkey with the intention of further strengthening its operations in the Middle East.

Sojitz Joins Hospital Project in the Republic of Turkey

Sojitz Corporation has announced participation in a hospital project in Turkey via a wholly-owned subsidiary. Together with Ronesans, Sojitz will construct, operate and manage the Ikitelli Integrated Health Campus (Location: Istanbul, Turkey; the number of beds: 2,682; “Ikitelli IHC”). The Ikitelli IHC will be one of the largest hospital complexes in the world, and the sole hospital facility managed in part by a Japanese company.
